Digital Signal Processor for Thermocouples (DART) is a precise and fast method of converting voltage to temperature for large temperature range thermocouple applications. The conventional method of generating precise measurements required multiple high order equations that were difficult to solve in real time. Virtual Instruments (VIs) were created using NIST tables whose precision is limited to .01 mV. Interpolation is used to generate more precise values.

At NASA/Stennis Space Center, instrumentation in the field transmits information to the control room, where Labview VIs display the data on computer monitors, control valves and other instrumentation in the field.

DART is available in two machine versions: an IBM PC version and a Macintosh II version. The IBM PC version carries the NASA case number SSC-00031 and the Macintosh II version carries the NASA case number SSC-00032. It was originally released as part of the COSMIC collection.
